Coworking Space: Workshop17 The Bank in Johannesburg

I had such a disappointing experience at Workshop 17 at The Bank. After 9 months of working there they raised our fees and simultaneously removed the access to underground parking. When I enquired about this, I was told that the person who sold me the contract initially should have told me that this would happen. I was told that I would need to pay an additional R1,200 (excluding VAT) on top of my existing monthly fee of R3,200, which is already a lot more expensive than competitors (I am now at We Work for R2,600). There are limited hot desks and not enough phone call booths, which means that people end up having their Zoom meetings in the hot desk area. Super loud if you are trying to work. The most disappointing thing is the staff and their attitude towards queries/complaints. Whenever I raised a complaint I was met with a "not my problem" attitude. Some of the staff (like Bonnie at the cafe) are amazing. It's unfortunate that they are let down by other staff members. If you are looking for a co-working space in Rosebank then definitely rather consider We Work. They are much cheaper, they have more benefits (free cappuccinos/ free beer), and they have a lot more space. The staff are also super friendly and helpful. They also don't require an upfront deposit. Workshop 17 will require one month's deposit upfront.
