About Manhattan
Sitting on the Kansas and Big Blue Rivers, Manhattan is in the Riley County and has a population of 52,281 inhabitants. Founded in the 1850s it has been nicknamed "The Little Apple" as a taunt on New York City's "Big Apple" label. Home to the Kansas State University, Manhattan definitely has a strong college town vibe rumbling throughout its streets dotted with student mayhem. The Manhattan Regional Airport is the 2nd busiest commercial airport in Kansas, probably due to all of the kids flying back home when they can. Coworking venues in Manhattan has given these tech hungry youth somewhere other than the university or the local cafe to get stuff done in between creating a bit of inventive havoc.
For the music lover Manhattan is home to the largest music festival in Kansas, the Country Stampede Music Festival. If you like to play with gadgets there is the Flint Hills Discovery Center offering multimedia exhibits about the region's prairie ecosystem. If you are tired of talking to the person beside you, there is the Sunset Zoo where you can chat to a leopard or a cheetah, whilst the Tuttle Creek State Park is where you can jump on a horse.
Manhattan is home to Tallgrass Brewing Co, the largest brewery in Kansas, so there is no shortage of drinks for those afterwork get togethers when you have run out the doors of your coworking space.
