About Chelsea

Sitting on the opposite bank of the Mystic River to Boston, Chelsea is the 2nd most densely populated city in Massachusetts and the smallest in terms of area. A diverse working-class enclave, it is an industrial city overflowing with families and young professionals. Sitting on a small peninsula in Boston Harbor, it is bordered on 3 sides by water and consists of coastal lowlands with elongated hills, giving it a hilly landscape that divides the city's neighborhoods. Admirals Hill contains the Naval Hospital Historic District and the historic Chelsea Naval Hospital. Addison-Orange is a residential area that is predominantly flat and densely populated. Bellingham Square is the historic district of the city, whilst Box District is awash with town houses and housing complexes.

Known as Boston's "Little Italy", the North End is the city's oldest neighborhood that was established in 1630. Overflowing with cafes, pubs and restaurants, this is where to head to when the hunger pangs strike. You can check out the Bunker Hill Museum opposite the Bunker Hill Monument in memory of the American Revolution. A mammoth granite obelisk, it is worth taking the time out to gawk at. For market lovers there is the Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market to go fossicking in. The oldest university in the United States is "Harvard University" and this is across the Charles River in Cambridge. Sitting on the waterfront there is the New England Aquarium to blow bubbles at the fish in tanks. The historic district of Chelsea Square is definitely the place to meander and grab a coffee, or head to the Chelsea Commons near Mill Creek for some wetland action of the natural inhabitants.

If you are into the occult then take a trip to close by Salem, a colorful coastal city and the scene of the 1692 infamous witchcraft trials.
