About Strasbourg
Strasbourg, France is a contradiction of sorts. The city is a juxtaposition between a medieval past and a dynamic future. While the city is a French cultural hotbed with its many museums, operas, theaters, concert halls, and festivals, the city is also diverse. A number of locals speak German and English. Consulates for a number of foreign nationalities are dispersed throughout the city. Buildings hundreds of years old stand next to elegant modern designs. More than just the physical, however, Strasbourg is diverse in its ideas due to its coworking spaces and other initiatives.
Take for example the city’s Strasbourg Startups group. Every 3 months, a “Demo Night” is hosted to young startups wanting to demo their products and receive feedback. Monthly meetups are also hosted in which members of the French or international startup scene give talks on the technical aspects of operating a startup. Apart from Strasbourg Startups, other small business and networking events are often hosted by the city’s various coworking spaces as well.
Strasbourg is also home to France’s 2nd largest student population. The streets of the city are flooded with youthful energy. Whether you’re exploring the historic city center on foot, or utilizing Strasbourg’s many bike lanes, you’re sure to run into students. Many of which are looking for the right opportunity to transition from student to young professional.
With excellent infrastructure, a nice food scene (including France’s best sauerkraut), and a deep pool of affordable talent, Strasbourg is one of Europe’s more appealing destinations for growing a startup or advancing your career.
