About Jonkoping

Sitting on the shore of 3 different lakes, Jonkoping has an incredible tranquil setting that will lull your mind and slow down your footsteps. This scenic area is draped in woodland, transparent water, picturesque towns and it has a touch of magic about it. Jonkoping was the muse for the famous artist, John Bauer, known for his illustrations of trolls and forest fairies and you can see his work displayed. The town sits on the southern end of Sweden's 2nd largest lake, Vättern, with a population of about 93,797 people. The city is the seat of the Swedish National Courts Administration and the seat of the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Now, this stunning city has coworking spaces popping up for its woolly clad locals who need to get some work done, without the hassle of trying to work home alone.

For those into a bit of icy dipping there is a long lakeside beach to freeze your toes and in the city's heart there is the 19th Century Gothic designed Sofia Church where you can say a little prayer for your startup to soar. If you like to do a bit of bird watching you can go to the lake island of Visingsö with its' marsh and litter of ruins where you will be able to spy on water-bird colonies. This is where the matchstick was invented, so of course there is a "Matchstick Museum" plus other museums to give you plenty of places to linger. The Habo Church is the size of a cathedral and built entirely from wood with a sandstone altar that dates back to 1680 and you can find an open-air museum of 10 historic buildings.

Jonkoping has a wealth of things to see and do whether you are a transient soul passing through or a local who loves their own domain. Coworking spaces have sprung up in this town to cater to the tech savvy souls who don't wish to hog a chair in a cafe ordering coffee ad nauseam. When you need a break and a bit of romance in your life, you can always take a stroll around the Rosenlunds Rosarium where you can feast your eyes on over 500 varieties of roses.
