About St Leonards
One for the surf loving souls, St Leonards is a coastal town sitting near Geelong at the eastern end of the Bellarine Peninsula and the northern end of Swan Bay. The city that was used as a film location in the Australian television series "Sea Change", you don't have to have a husband having an affair with your sister (as in the movie) to take up residence in the town. The town's official motto is "where everyday is Sunday" and that about sums up the vibe of the place. You can chill out, check out the hundreds of birds that flock to its salt marches or rumble around on the cleanest beaches in the whole of Victoria. When it comes time to get some work done, coworking venues have now opened their doors to accommodate those who are over taking up space in the local cafes.
For those into sailing St Leonards is a dream destination as the water is amazingly calm and it is even possible to catch your own fish for dinner if you throw a line in the water from the pier. With only about 2,000 people in the town, you shouldn't have trouble making new friends or finding out what the gossip is. If you are into chasing a little white ball around a golf course there is the St Leonards Golf Club or you can check out the tennis or the bowling club for some convivial companionship and outdoor activity.
St Leonards is a bit on the small side to be called a tech hub, but it does have a few remote workers and innovative individuals who hang out in coworking spaces sharing experiences, skills and maybe chatting about their neighbours.
