About Lynnwood

A city in Snohomish County that is actually a part of the Seattle metropolitan area, Lynnwood sits about 26km north of Seattle with a population of about the 19,095 mark. The city acts as a "bedroom community" for many workers of Seattle and for those who can't be bothered going into the big smoke, there are coworking venues to get their work done. This is a city for the shopaholics as it has the largest concentration of retail in the region, plus there is a convention center and a community college. Settled in the late 19th and early 20th Century by homesteaders, Lynnwood was a planned farming community that grew into a suburban hub when the Interstate 5 and the Interstate 405 was completed.

Currently the United States is seeing fewer people taking the plunge into the startup realm compared to previous years, Lynnwood is like many other small cities where high-tech businesses need to regroup, rethink and rehash to come up with new ideas that haven't been exploited by the tech giants. This slowing down of new tech businesses is being attributed to numerous factors, such as an aging population and fewer technologies and ideas to exploit. The tech titans such as Facebook, Apple and Amazon are dominating the playing field leaving less room for innovators to break in.

With a mature ecosystem, the fledgling startups of the United States today need to dream bigger, get craftier and widen their imaginations to capture a new market space. Coworking venues are providing the space for collaboration for the tech savvy souls who have the hope and the will to succeed, or simply providing the space to work for remote workers.
