About Lewisville
Sitting in the Denton County of Texas, Lewisville was originally named Holford's Prairie, with a history dating back to the early 1840's. Its original growth happened due to the town's first railroad in 1881 and it was incorporated in 1925 with the construction of the Lewisville Lake in the 1950s. Blessed with a consistently warm climate, it is now a recreational hub for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. You won't get lost in town and probably won't stay long unless you are into a big choice of fast food or whiling away the nights at "Redneck Heaven".
The hub for the arts is the MCL Grand Theater where you can grab a movie or see a performance. The Lewisville Public Library played the temporary home of the George W Bush Presidential Library until 2013. There is the Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park to play a game of anything that involves a ball such as baseball, football, soccer or softball with a perimeter of a walking or jogging trail. There are also 3 manmade lakes to play upon in anything that floats and a dog park for those 4-legged friends to be let off the leash. The Scion Skate Park is for those into skating. You can go fishing at the Lewisville Lake Park or unpack your tent and camp for a while in all of nature's glory. For the golf lover, Lewisville is in the Northern Golf Corridor of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and there are several courses to choose from to play.
If none of this appeals, then head to the Central Park with a picnic blanket and a good book.
