About Worcester

Worcester is a beautiful cathedral and university city with a fascinating history of industry, a wealth of interesting architecture, top class sports teams and venues, an unrivaled selection of high street names and independent boutiques, and a vibrant program of events for every season. The city is best known for its magnificent cathedral but is also famous for the world renowned Worcester Porcelain, the piquant Worcestershire Sauce, and the most picturesque cricket ground in the country.

Its central location means to the north is the West Midlands, to the east the delightful Cotswolds, while to the south of the county is rich agricultural land of the Vale of Evesham which benefits from the fertile waters of the River Avon. During the Middle Ages Worcester was an important wool town, and glove making has been important since the 13th century. Another fun fact about Worcester is that Berrow’s Worcester Journal, Britain’s oldest surviving newspaper, was founded here in 1690. For entrepreneurs and remote teams, Worcester makes for a great destination to set up a business, as it has many resources in the community that support professional growth.
