About Sewell
This is where you will find the last operational greensand mine in the world (a type of sandstone) in an area known for its paleontology. Sewell sits in the Manua Township in the county of Gloucester, New Jersey. A small town, it is also home to the oldest bar in New Jersey, "Barnsboro Inn", the Rowan College and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology. The Tall Pines State Preserve opened in 2015 and is Gloucester County's first state park.
New Jersey on the east coast of the Mid-Atlantic region is known for its stunning beaches, the migratory birds of Cape May, the Pine Barrens, blueberry farms and a 72 km stretch of the Appalachian Trail. There may not be much in the town to keep you occupied, but there is plenty to do in the mountains that are moments away.
