Burbank is where movie history is made, as it's home to Walt Disney, Warner Bros., and many other film studios. The area has a higher level of pollution, but it's much more budget-friendly, laid-back, and down to earth than neighboring LA.
Skip the backstage tours (and hoards of tourists) and head to the Magnolia Park area - with its small-town feel, it remains a quiet area by fighting off new construction and big-box stores. Visit the famous Porto's Bakery, and wander around Magnolia Boulevard and Antique Row to discover vintage shops, eclectic boutiques, and corner markets.
For a more quirky experience, head to the Rancho Equestrian area, famous for its zoning laws allowing residents to keep horses on their property. Riverside Drive, the area's main street, even has a designated horse lane - so don't be surprised if you look out your car window and see someone on horseback next to you.
