About Croydon
Located about 15km south of Charing Cross, Croydon is a large town in the south of London. This is one of the largest commercial districts outside of Central London with an awesome nightlife happening and a huge shopping district to keep the shopaholics distracted for hours on end. The city of Croydon actually sits on a transport corridor between central London and the south coast of England. It has been the home to numerous authors and novelists from D.H. Lawrence to the French Novelist, Emile Zola. This is where you will find the BRIT School for performing arts and technology that has produced stars such as Amy Winehouse and Kate Nash to name a few. Croydon may not be a tech hub but it's certainly a creative enclave where coworking venues are now providing the space for innovative souls to hang out and get their stuff done.
This is where the Fairfield Halls (entertainment complex) is located that has seen the likes of The Beatles, Dionne Warwick, Status Quo and plenty more perform on stage. The Croydon Clocktower Arts Center houses a state-f-the-art library, a cinema and museum with links to the Town Hall. Theatre is strong with quite a few venues in the city and its music scene is explosive.
The startup scene in the United Kingdom is said to be one of the fastest growing in the whole of Europe according to figures over the last 5 years when there has been 392,627 new tech startups launched in the country. The most growth showed up in the niche sectors of Internet, fintech and software. The UK has an attractive environment for tech businesses in that it offers great foundations and ecosystems for innovative minds to get their ideas off the ground. Coworking is but one more step in supporting intrepid brains, where it's possible to connect and collaborate with likeminded souls especially in a city that is literally dripping with creativity such as Croydon.
