Wrapped up in the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Temecula the city is a vibrant space of grape vines and golf courses. Its Old Town is cloaked in buildings from the 1800s, antique shops and restaurants. There's a museum to meander around with regional history on display and a children's science museum with hands-on exhibits that will entertain the child within every adult, if you don't happen to have your own kids. With a population of around the 114,000 mark, Temecula is about 93km north of downtown San Diego and 137 km southeast of downtown Los Angeles. This is a tourist destination that puts on annual events such as the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival and the Temecula Valley International Film Festival, to name a couple. There are plenty of creatives sipping espresso in its cafes and taking up space in its coworking venues that have recently opened.
An affluent enclave with resort accommodation and plenty of golf courses for those who like to chase little white balls over green grass, Temecula is also home to the $262 million Pechanga Resort & Casino complex that is the city's largest employer.
California actually produces more tech PhDs per year than any other region in the country and the California Institute of Technology generates more patents and startups than any other university. It has a growing new generation of tech innovators, a varied ecosystem and diverse influences that lead to innovation. With many graduates wanting to stay on their own home territory, coworking venues have become the playground and the hangout for many creatives where they can get support, mingle with likeminded souls and get their stuff done.
