About Northville

A suburb and city of the Detroit metropolitan area with a population of around the 5,970 mark, Northville is actually surrounded by the city of Novi sitting about 47km northwest of Detroit. First settled in 1825, Northville was a mere village in 1867 and finally incorporated as a city in 1955. If you are into annual festivals then this is a town for you, as it holds numerous from artsy fairs to grub crawls, a "Fire and Ice" spectacular when there is a chili and salsa cookoff plus an ice carving competition. During the summer months the town comes alive with music in the town square. Coworking venues have opened up their doors in Northville so that those who wish to stay on their own home-turf have somewhere to play and get their work done.

Northville may not be a tech hub per se, but Michigan the state has plenty of resources and talent floating around creating an emerging ecosystem. Over the last 5 years Michigan has received 250% more startup investment (think $1.4 billion) than it did in the 5 years prior to that. There is a strong information-security talent pool due to the University of Michigan and Arbor Networks that has helped nurture the region's ecosystem creating a flow-on affect from once successful venture to another. Incubators such as Ann Arbor SPARK and Cahoots to name a few are supporting this growing entrepreneur vibe.

Coworking venues are adding to the dynamic ecosystem by providing the space for collaboration, connection and the sharing of ideas.
