About Crawley

A large town in West Sussex, Crawley sits about 45km from London's Charing Cross and approximately 29km north of Hove and Brighton. Inhabited since the Stone Age, the city was the centre of ironworking during Roman times and developed slowly into a market town for the surrounding villages during the 13th Century. A town where stagecoaches would stop off for the night, as it was on the main road from London to Brighton; it wasn't until 1841 that a rail link connected it to London. It has a population of around the 106,597 mark who can be found checking out a ballet or opera at the performing arts complex, chatting to a short-clawed otter at the Tilgate Nature Center or bunkering down in a coworking venue getting creative with likeminded souls.

Today the town's economy is based in industry and has a large industrial area supporting manufacturing and service companies with many of them connected to the Gatwick Airport, one of Britain's busiest international airports. Perched on the western edge of the High Weald that is a long sandstone ridge arcing down to the coastline, the town offers everything you could possibly want from a bustling city heart with every shop imaginable to a beautiful countryside that can be reached within minutes.

The startup scene in the United Kingdom is said to be one of the fastest growing in the whole of Europe according to figures over the last 5 years when there has been 392,627 new tech startups launched in the country. The most growth showed up in the niche sectors of Internet, fintech and software. The UK has an attractive environment for tech businesses in that it offers great foundations and ecosystems for innovative minds to get their ideas off the ground. Coworking is but one more step in supporting intrepid brains where it's possible to hang out collaborating, check some emails or bring dreams into the realms of reality.
