About Kamloops

Canada's most diverse golfing destination with 13 incredible golf courses to chase little white balls on amidst a landscape of dry semi-arid grasslands to alpine mountains, Kamloops is known as "Canada's Tournament Capital" hosting over 100 tournaments every year.  Don't despair if you are not into the golfing mania as there are plenty of other activities to keep everyone happy.  Kamloops sits on the convergence of the South Thompson and the North Thompson Rivers, which create the Thompson River in Canada. Originally on the river trade route, overloaded paddle boats and steamers plowed the waters.

East of town you have the British Columbia Wildlife Park where you can spy on cougars and bear whilst to the west you will find Kamloops Lake and towering clay spires. A 2,000 year-old village can be found on the riverside at the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park.  There is an incredible 1,350 hectares of parks in Kamloops where you can get up to anything from hiking, mountain biking, lake fishing and of course, a golf game to snowboarding and skiing.

Sitting in the wine region of the Thompson Okanagan region, a wine tour is a great way to waste a day or two or three, depending on your capacity to hold your liquor.  You could always head to Kamloops for its annual Cowboy Festival or the "Kamloopa Pow Wow" for a cultural hit of a different kind.  You can investigate the Kamloops Museum and Archives, put on your "I am intelligent" glasses and swan around an art gallery or hang out at one of the many cafes for a hit of caffeine.  There is a theater for the live theater buffs and a summer artists' market to hop around at the Old Courthouse Cultural Center.  Free music is sometimes on at the Riverside Park by "Music in the Park" or fly solo on a heritage homes tour of the 30 historic buildings littered around the town.
