The town where you "drink for kids", yes, that is definitely a social statement that requires rereading. Apparently the only stores selling alcohol in Edina are municipally owned and the profits are used to fund youth activities. So when you are in town, drink up and help the local kids.
A city in the Hennepin County of Minnesota, it is a small town southwest of Minneapolis. Despite its size, you will find 44 parks, 3 indoor ice rinks, a water park and a couple of golf courses to play on. Quite a few movies have been filmed in Edina including some scenes of "Fargo". Settled in the 1870s mostly by Irish families fleeing the potato famine, they were soon followed by others from Germany and New England. You only need to head to either the Baird or the Grimes neighborhoods to get a taste of the town's historical past. The Country Club District was amongst the first areas to be established, definitely not with a golf course.
You can grab a turkey burger at the local grill restaurant and then head off for a game of mini golf or straddle a paddleboat at the Centennial Lakes Park. The annual Edina Art Fair held in the summer not only highlights artists' works, but also includes a craft beer garden for when your throat is parched from talking too much. The museum buffs have not been forgotten, as there is the Minnesota Streetcar Museum that operates 8 restored historical streetcars.
Other than the above, maybe hang out in a cafe sipping an espresso and watch the passing parade of humanity.
