Coworking Space: Welsh ICE in Caerphilly

if your looking for a friendly vibe, lots of chats, pizza evenings, welsh speaking and clubs, ICE will be right up your street. if your looking for a place to do some work, not so much. Good for 20s-30s designers who want to chat all day about which cartoons you watched in teh 90's. if you want a quite space there's a little room you can use but the main space is for the in crowd who like the music loud and the convos louder. The wifi is ok for emails but not ideal for Teams. Managment team is freindly but more interested in their special subjects like mental health and no car days than in actual business. it's in a good location for me but it could be more professional.

I've been a member of Welsh ICE for over three years now, pretty much since starting my own business. ICE has been a massive help to me: opening up business funding opportunities, getting support from their mentoring scheme, networking with fellow members (resulting in a fair few new clients/projects as a result), using their meeting rooms and having an official office address that I can use on business cards. It's more than just office space - and it certainly beats working from home...! Also, living in the north of Cardiff, it's such an easy commute - it's quicker than heading into the centre of Cardiff from where I am. I really recommend it. If anyone I know goes self-employed, I let them know about ICE straight away.

Three days in and I'm totally convinced that this has been the best business decision I've made so far. The place bounces with enthusiasm and everyone I've met has been incredibly friendly, supportive and enthusiastic. If the secret to success is to surround yourself with great people, Welsh ICE is the way to do it.

If you've got a great business idea; want to mingle with the like minded, or ready to raise your first invoice... Then ICE has everything you need from facilities, and suppliers to support, mentoring and training. All wrapped up in a community culture that creates opportunity and collaboration. You really need to check it out...

The co-working room is great and the facilities are great (can't beat a coffee from Calon!), but the most amazing bit about ICE is the collaborative and positive environment. I have been welcomed, encouraged, supported, trained and mentored - and made connections with other entrepreneurs and businesses that have proved invaluable. Hand on heart, I'm not sure I would have made the leap from public sector career to entrepreneur and business owner without the support of ICE - and I certainly wouldn't have survived the roll-coaster first year.

Spent ages looking for a suitable startup location for our SAAS business. It wasn't easy. Or fun for that matter. Looked at countless overpriced, dreary offices; all with the charisma of...well.....a bucket. None of those places were going to help us attract the calibre of staff that we wanted. Then we heard about ICE, so we made an appointment to see what they were all about. Charisma? They got it. Oh yes. Gareth and Jamie and Huw and Nicola and Mandy and Carianne and.... well you get the picture. A genuinely dedicated team of driven, active and dynamic staff, and over 100 other companies here to bounce ideas off. Super welcoming, super encouraging. The atmosphere here is awesome. Its a fun place to work, and great coffee too (Thanks Greg) As we are growing, it gives us an advantage when it comes to staff recruitment. ICE helps differentiate us from other employers You can scale the space as you grow, and ICE are frequently getting in interesting speakers, arranging trips to London, putting us in front of potential investors. Many new contacts made. Its not the cheapest. But its certainly the best value. And who wants to work out of a bucket anyway?
