Coworking Space: Melting Pot in Birmingham

I booked a hot desk at the Melting Pot and paid using their website. I sent an email asking for any detail ahead of time and got no response. When I arrived on the day I'd booked, the place was deserted with no lights on. I called the phone number on the door/website and after two rings, the phone rang out. On subsequent calls, I went straight to answer phone. Overall, I'm down a tenner with nowhere to work. Very unprofessional and unreliable, I just hope I can get my £10 back.

Such an amazing space right in the creative quarter of Birmingham. The space allows for collaborations and a platform to grow. It has a great community based ethic, providing the perfect working environment. I would highly recommend to anyone!

A space full of young like minded creatives and small businesses. A very family like atmosphere and plenty of opportunities within.

The Melting Pot is run by & filled with the most friendly & talented people that are always happy to help each other out, collaborate & create! It's all set in a lovely old industrial building that has been brought into this century & repurposed by the Stax Creations team in the creative district that is Digbeth!

The melting pot provides and unique and very modern way for creatives to work but also network in house, offering a variety of different creative opportunities we have a wide range of different people working from the melting pot. Including music producers, videographers, photographers, fashion designers, seamstresses, carpentry and general office based work the list continues. The melting pot is a fun place to be based and brings everyone in the city together no matter what.

Melting Pot is an amazing creative space for freelancers to work with like-minded people. It gives people a great opportunity to network, socialise and make new friends. The space offers hot desks in which people can rent for a day or if they choose, can rent a desk for the whole month making it their own working space. As well as, your own individual pod (which is in a large warehouse) for people who are doing more hands-on work and need that bit of extra space instead of a desk. If you're looking to hold a meeting or exhibition, the place has it covered with its conference rooms and it's beautiful open space to show off your art and hopefully get some buyers in! With a communal kitchen and chill out area, it really gives people the opportunity to network and get to know one another. Helping people bond and using each other's skills to work together for various projects. Melting Pot is the place to be if you're looking for a great place to work and every day is different as people are working 24/7 and you never know what people can be showing off one day to the next!!

It's a hub of like minded creatives that allows everyone's business to naturally grow and flourish!

Super collaborative group of people and a fantastic space.

As one of the first tenants in the space, I've been afforded the privilege of seeing the Melting Pot blossom into a vibrant co-operative community. Not only has this been hugely crucial to my own successful development as a freelance creative, but also to Birmingham's wider cultural landscape. Areas and trades that were once disparate now happily congregate under one roof. From this, a number of exciting projects and ideas have emerged including the recent addition of a gallery/events space. The potential of such an innovative, forward-thinking workspace is nothing short of inspiring - as the old saying goes: the sky's the limit.

A great bunch of creative people, a laid back and friendly atmosphere, a visually appealing space and great facilities, all in one of Birmingham's most creative areas.

A revolutionary space for the second city.

They are the most innovative co working space that the city has to offer. The amount of hard work these boys have put into this space is obvious from the moment you walk in, well Deserved of some recognition.

An amazing atmosphere, affordable prices and gallery space is amazing. Melting pot has a makers lab attatched with tools and machines to prototype and work on large scale projects. Everybody working at the melting pot collaborates and socialises. A lot of creative industries are running out of the melting pot including Fashion, Fine Art, street art, furniture making, set design, media, web development, photography to name a few

I use the melting pot a couple of times a week, it's an amazing workspace with loads of cool people. I often use the meeting room which is really cool. I have met and worked with a lot of interesting creative people since using the melting pot and my network has now massively grown.

This space is incredibly unique and offers something new and exciting for Birmingham city. The creators and directors of this space are extremely creative and forward thinking and have great ideas and ethos. Exactly the kind of the place the city needs!

The energy in the Melting Pot is like that of none other in the city. The unique collection of creatives in the building have created an environment where collaboration is highly encouraged and championing one another is standard practice. An amazing thing to be a part of.

I really like the melting pot. The team running the space are really helpful and supportive and it is a space with a lot of flexibility for ideas and creativity. There is a good community of people and it feels very un-corporate which I also really like. I definitely would (and do) recommend it to others.

The Melting Pot is an amazing spot to work from - great location and lots of places to explore in the local area. There's a nice crew working from here, which gives a community feel and also spurs a multitude of collaborations. It's also a nice touch being surrounded by all the artwork and sculptures from the creators that it houses. Would definitely recommend.

I visited / tried out pretty much every coworking space in B'ham before I found the Melting Pot - this one just clicked. Big range of people, from creatives to coders, with a brilliant vibe of youth, art and creativity. Big workshop space downstairs where all sorts of cool creations get made. Open 24/7, always people around. Would recommend to anyone.

I've been here since January 2019. The combination of desk space and workshops has drawn a great cross-section of creative people - from artists and designers to marketers, events people, and the rest. Melting Pot has a great atmosphere, flexible terms, and is very cost effective. I'm glad I found it - everyone here is up for collaborations and giving each other useful advice. The location is great - right in the city centre but in an interesting neighbourhood.

Myself and my team moved into the space a few months ago. The vibrant space has allowed us to really enhance our current day-to-day operation as a regional event planner, talent & content creation agency. The industrial beauty that lies within really grasps the creative nature that Digbeth holds. Friendly creatives around, & many collaborative opportunities. Highly recommend to all creatives whether you’re just starting or a fully operational based freelancer/team.

I've had a space at the Melting Pot for a few months now and I highly recommend it! Great environment - inspiring spaces - light and spacious - and most important - really lovely people! Digbeth is a wonderful place to work too - central and yet a little off the beaten track - I love wandering around in my lunchbreak - people watching - and looking for bargains in Cow - a great second hand clothing warehouse just around the corner! All the facilities at Melting Pot are first class - there's even a brand new shower in the changing rooms!!

My company Shiny People moved into the Melting Pot 3 months ago, great work environment and group of people to be around! - a real variety of creatives including web designers, artists, carpenters etc. Everyone is very positive and motivating of each other. We’ve already been given work through being here and I’m sure there’s plenty more to come. Modern furniture against the industrial walls looks slick - large windows and nice lighting. All desks are handmade. Very affordable cost comparable with other spaces in the area, and working alongside this group is a great bonus. Permanent spaces as well as hot desking so something for everyone even if just visiting the area.

I've been here for roughly 1 month now and absolutely love the space! It's full of creatives with a friendly atmosphere! The inside of the building is incredible, it shares the same feel as aloft apartment would, definitely makes me think of a space like what Google offices would have! There is a meeting room that can be booked and the space even has shower facilities. By far the best space I've been to in Birmingham and i've been to 5 in the past year.... oh and it's at a great cost! Would strongly recommend the Melting Pot to anyone!

Been here for a couple of months, Really Really cool space, amazing location, generous workspaces, the people that run the place are great too, and its a perfect environment for working in and meeting loads of new people, got loads of work through being here by talking to the people in the space. I'm really happy to bring my clients here too, they love it and the option of hiring out the meeting rooms and bigger workspaces for the day tied in with the membership is perfect for my flexible schedule. Its getting better every day too which is cool to have an input on as it grows.

Companies based at the melting pot are working together on some really interesting projects together as well as ticking by independently. Co - Workshop attached means pretty much anything can get done. The space is still evolving as well so seeing it grow is really exciting. Lee the in-house accountant is perfect for any advice or help essentiacially when it comes to new businesses or creative industries like Artists. Location is a stones throw away from the selfridges building but still in Digbeth. This makes it ideal for commuting, meetings or if you like to being amongst Birmingham’s creative hub.
