About Indianapolis

Founded in 1821, Indianapolis sits on the joining of White River and Fall Creek. With a nickname of the "Crossroads of America", this is where 4 interstate highways and 6 US highways intercept. Home to the Indianapolis 500 that is the world's biggest single-day sporting event, it is a "rev heads" wet pants moment where you will find the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that can accommodate well over 600,000 fans. Forgetting about the petrol fumes, it is also home to The Children's Museum of Indianapolis that is the largest museum of its kind in the world with over 100,000 artifacts and exhibits.

One can dawdle around the Indianapolis Museum of Art that encompasses pre-Columbian, Asian, Baroque to Neo-Impressionism as well as medieval and Renaissance Art. You can stretch your legs in the Eagle Creek Park and Nature Preserve where its possible to sail, windsurf, splash in the water and do a bit of biking or hiking. There is a restaurant there to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

Check out and pay your respects at the Monument Circle in the city center, gawk at the State Capitol Building or simply vegetate in one of the many cafes, restaurants or bars dotted around.
