About Tilburg

A city in the Netherlands sitting in the southern province of North Brabant, Tilburg has a population of around the 214,157 mark making it the 2nd largest municipality and the 6th largest in the Netherlands. Students cavort in its streets as it is home to the Tilburg University, the Avans University of Applied Sciences and Fontys University of Applied Sciences. These tech savvy youth are now foregoing the cafe scene to hang out in coworking spaces that have opened up in the city. The city is known for its 10-day fair held in July each year of which the Monday is devoted to being "Pink Monday" and primarily an LGBT event. Tilburg has 3 railway stations, so it's easy to get to.

The city is one large urban zone with plenty happening apart from the fact that it is now hosting coworking venues for its' intrepid locals to invade. It first appeared in documents dating from 709AD, but then was not mentioned again until the late Middle Ages. Once a wool manufacturing hub, the factories have been revamped into housing projects. You will find everything you need to survive in the town, but it is no tech hub per se. The Netherlands has its promising startup hub happening in Amsterdam, as it was named the best European Tech City to work in by a recent tech study. There are actually 578 international ICT companies with offices in Amsterdam and many of them are always on the lookout for talented people. Markets vary from cryptocurrency to online food ordering services. Another benefit is the fact that nearly everyone speaks English, so there is definitely no language barrier to get over and blending in is easy. Amsterdam is becoming a hotbed for scaleups and startups with many forward thinking and tech driven individuals creating dreams that are becoming reality.

The Netherlands offers support and resources for those wishing to work independently or to get a fledgling startup soaring. Coworking venues are one more step in the ecosystem that is creating space for out-of-the-box thinkers to get together in collaborative bliss.
