Overview of Ludgate Hub

Ludgate Hub is Ireland's first rural coworking society where you can live and work under the same roof. Sitting in one of Ireland's most spectacular locations, Skibbereen in the South West, Ludgate Hub is only 10 minutes to the beach with state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive global business network.

The creative coworking environment can accommodate up to 75 individuals and is a blueprint for other rural areas. The premises were once a cinema from 1941-1981, then a bakery and then left idle until Ludgate Hub took up residence as the new beacon of innovation encouraging fringe enterprises as a spin-off. An ecosystem of creativity and innovation, Ludgate Hub wants to facilitate job growth via digital technology with the long-term vision of making Skibbereen a hotspot for technology start-ups and multinationals to locate and prosper at a global level.

To become a coworking member you will have to spend 12-15 minutes filling out the online application. Once accepted you can either take advantage of being a member on an ad hoc basis or a live-in worker. There is 10,000 square feet of coworking space overflowing with services and facilities where you can rent a laptop as well as your hot desk if need be. Short term or long term, you will have a dedicated desk, Wi-Fi to hook into, 24/7 secure access to the premises depending on your membership, locker storage to stash your goodies in and a kitchen to whip up a feast when the hunger pangs strike. You will have invites to workshops and mentoring, as well as meeting and training rooms if required.

Meeting and training rooms can be booked by the public via email and can hold various numbers of individuals depending on your needs. There is a Google hangout room that can accommodate 4-12 people with 2 collaborative touch screens available to use for presentations. The O'Driscoll Suite will hold up to 6-10 hot bodies and is perfect for presentations, whilst the Training and Workshop space can seat up to 50 in a theater style setup. All spaces can be catered for to stop any stomach rumbling and include extras such as notepads and pens, flipcharts, whiteboards and the list goes on.
