Saw it with my own eyes, found excellent support there ... and hopefully will come back soon!
In preparing an awareness video project in spring 2019 I found there the friendliest and most effective help I could have wished for. Never expected so much valuable information and anticipation on a single spot. Also the different acitivities I could observe there were impressive - especially of course the divers indivduals I met there - being basically busy to work together on the common well being - especially for those who need it the most.
In a nutshell: if you have the privilege to see this lovely place for yourself, go there, talk to them, maybe join them and certainly try to make a contribution - in what way ever - there are soo many ways - and so few excuses ;-)
I hope to be back soon by myself and to do finally do what I was planing to do already in autumn last year. Of course I will take the ferry boat to get there ;-)
Please don't be irritated by the high ratings - those are coming both from the heart and the brain not exagerated at all!
... and let me ask you to "tolerate" my maybe akward english words ... the language is not my mother tounge.
Open Space--a real gift for volunteers in Mytelini.
We are a group of teachers who volunteer to teach English in some of the educational centers in Lesvos. Space is very limited in most of the educational venues, and so the volunteers have no where to "hang their hats". Open Space was a real godsend for us. When we needed a quiet place to work, we came here. The wi-fi is excellent! We also used the space as a tutoring center when we had one or two students. Open Space is a great name, because it is just that. There are tables and desks in a large open room, and others are also working with you. There is more privacy upstairs, if you want to tutor or have a conversation. Our organization, REAL: Refugee Education And Learning, is so grateful for Open Space! Thank you!
A warm and interesting place in the center of Mytilini
We organized a focus group within the frame of the postgraduate programme "Apllied - Clinical Sociology and Art" and all the participants of the conversation were very satisfied in the end. Open Space is a warm place, with caring and supporting people, which ensured the privacy of the procedure. Dimitris and Chloe were there, when we needed them.
Reference also must be made about the equipment that was given to us.
I definitely recommend this place.
Thank you,
Maria Papadopoulou
