The word ‘unique' is often overused but it's totally appropriate for the boat-shaped building and innovative location of the Lyon Vaise business centre. The business centre is located on the ground floor of Campus Verrazzano. It is one of four distinctive barge-like buildings on the banks of the River Saone in fast-growing Lyon - the second biggest city in France after Paris. The building overlooks green space in a campus complex in western Lyon, close to the main ring road and the A6 motorway from Paris to Marseille. Its position means the many digital and IT companies in the area avoid the busy traffic in the city centre. More than 200 companies employing 7,500 people are located in the Lyon Vaise digital cluster, with many firms being leaders in software, ICT and video games. Greater Lyon also attracts creative companies, while Lyon Part-Dieu is the second largest service sector district in France.
