It's all about making work fit into the life that you aspire to and in the case of The Ski Locker coworking space, it is the majestic mountains with soaring peaks that greet you when you glance up from your laptop screen, not the overpowering dominating vibes of a city bustle. This is a community of digital nomads, freelancers and entrepreneurs who crave the open spaces of wild valleys where inspiration and creation naturally creates a more productive work flow, because the air you breathe is as free as your mind.

The doors are open from 9am to 6pm daily so you can fit in your work hours when it suits you. It is easy to go "lunch skiing" in such a sublime environment located only 100 meters from the ski lift "Aiguille du Midi" in the wondrous area of Chamonix in France. Ski Locker was created out of the need of a group of entrepreneurs previously located in the dynamic cities of London, Stockholm or Paris, to balance work and life. Mountain lovers in every respect, their idea of utopia was to be able to work and play in the French mountains, hence the birth of The Ski Locker.

Here you can grab an individual desk, plug in to super fast network connections, have access to a meeting room and whip up a snack in the shared kitchen area if the stomach rumbles can't be ignored. You can swill as much tea or coffee as you like, slouch in a beanbag for some time out or put your elbows on an outdoor picnic table in the summer months and take in the fresh air.

The members are sociable with friendly smiles, predominantly from creative or tech industries, that are over the big city hustle. The central location is surrounded by some of the best bars and cafes in Chamonix for those after work ad hoc catch-ups and networking opportunities.

Memberships are flexible with peak prices applying during December to April and off-peak rates applying for the rest of the year. From full time to flexi, whether you are a fly-by skier that only needs a seat and a connection to a Chamonix local looking for an exclusive desk, there is a suitable rate that won't break your bank balance.

When you come to the world capital of extreme mountain sports, you can't ski or climb every day, though obviously you try. Sometimes you gotta work to pay the bills. So you need a friendly, good value co-working space full of cool mountain cats to get **** done. If we need something doing, it gets done pretty quick by the MGMT. Weekly eats at Nom Noms bring people together and most of us end up in Bighorn for happy hour on Friday. It's not cliquey, there are nice dogs, lots of skis and now an electronic entry system for security. There are meeting rooms for phone calls and people respect the generally quiet atmosphere. There is ace artwork courtesy of Tom Hine and things are progressing all the time. It's the sole reason I moved to Chamonix. I couldn't function without a co-working space. #skilockerforever

I spent a few days at the Ski Locker in summer 2016. It is a good coworking space, with comfortable furniture and nice decoration. Part of the office space is in the basement, which means less ventialtion, and no view to the outside :/ People I met there were very friendly, which is the most important.
