Coworking Space: The Two Twenty in Saskatoon

I've worked at the Two Twenty Building for 4 years, and I really enjoy it. The building itself is sunny and open. It is always clean, and it doesn't get too loud. The common area and kitchen are inviting and great to use for small or medium-size events. The people are generally friendly, approachable and interesting. Oh, and the board room has *really* comfy chairs. ;) I also really appreciate that the building puts work into being more sustainable. There's the green energy from the solar installation on the roof. They also compost the coffee grounds and food waste in a barrel system in the back alley. And they recently did a waste audit to see if they could reduce the garbage further. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place as a good spot to get some work done, and meet some cool people too.

I signed up to the 2-20 a couple of months ago and am absolutely thrilled with my decision to do so. I was a work-from-home freelancer, and found my productivity continually decreasing as the years rolled on. Winters were always particularly harsh, as my aversion to cold meant I'd do my best not to leave the house. In the interest of fighting winter isolation and increasing productivity, I thought I'd give 2-20 a chance for a couple of months. I'm so pleased with the experience, I have decided to permanently maintain my membership. The work environment: The Co-Work space is clean, and inviting, with a light and airy atmosphere. Its located by the kitchen, which has bottomless coffee and a fridge to store lunches in. I am a particular fan of the "By Donation" Muscle Milk fridge, as I often go to the gym during my lunch breaks. There are three main tables with easy access to a power plug, a larger central table, with no access to power, and a couch with some chairs - near an outlet. There's access to printers and other office equipment - but I have no use for it so I can't comment too much in that regard. There's usually 2 - 4 people using the co-work area. On a busy day there might be 6-8. Most people don't spend the whole workday there as I do, but drop in for a few hours or half day. There are also offices and studios of different sized for those that want a dedicated space, and meeting rooms of various sizes available to be booked, with access to presentation equipment. There are two sound booths which are great for phone calls and vid-chats, providing both privacy for the conversation and peace for those who are working. The People: They're a lovely group, and you'll find all kinds. Lots of not-for-profits, internet media companies, artists, counselors, etc... It makes for some interesting conversation. Most people are really quite friendly and outgoing, which is a nice change of pace for a shy introvert like myself. There are monthly socials which a good number of people attend and an online portal which is fun to watch and participate in. The Location: This is the main reason I love 2-20. There are great restaurants and shops nearby. Collective coffee next door makes an excellent cup and has a couple of sandwiches available. It's close to the mall, which means easy access to the post office and the ability to get a few errands done. There's a fitness studio down the street (not the one I use), and some charming shops if you just need to get up and clear your mind for a few minutes. Joining the 2-20 improved the "quality of life" surrounding my working hours immensely.

Since joining The Two Twenty back in April 2012 it's been nothing but positives as regards the work environment, the flexibility and understanding on the part of management, meaningful and useful engagement with other members of the community, plus the ability to grow (or shrink) at a pace consistent with the needs of my company. Couldn't ask for a better place to be located or people to be around! As an added bonus, the price point and lease terms made it possible to get my business of the ground without tying me down cash-wise or having to think years ahead.

The Two Twenty community is really unique and welcoming. They pay attention to their member's needs and are really responsive. They have regular events like Friday beers that keep people connected and offer opportunities to grow your community. And regular members/tenants at The Two Twenty also host a lot of events that are of value to the community. I especially love the neighbourhood--the best and most unique restaurants are next door, as is the best coffee in the city. I so value the people I've met and worked with in the Two Twenty and wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

Working at home by yourself sucks. As a sole proprietor and working at the TwoTwenty I now have colleagues and friends and even "staff" parties! It has been a great 5+ years of co-working excellence. I had to get out of the house to be productive and even with some social distractions from time to time I have made my work/life balance so much more better. The coffee shop next door is great and the neighbourhood is amazing. It is easy walking distance to downtown but with better parking. If you are looking for a great place to work, it is worth checking out.

Really, there are few other work environments I can ever work in again. I have been spoiled by the amenities and the culture of this place. The diversity of people and businesses here makes networking a simple snap.... and Shift makes sure that there are plenty of events to lubricate the networking. The facilities meeting rooms are very good and the technology is well upkept. The neighborhood is full of brilliant restaurants too. In the summer there is an amazing parking lot patio that linens up the whole block. The Two Twenty is also a stabilizing and uniting feature of the entire neighborhood. Yay us!

I have worked in this space for over four and a half years and it has been such a positive experience! Seeing our community grow and connecting with others in the space has been so great. I love working in Riversdale, being next to one of Saskatoon's best coffee shops (hello Collective Coffee!) and having access to many wonderful shops and restaurants nearby. As a small business here you do not fully feel it as it is such a welcoming environment of individuals! It would be very difficult to leave this special little community...and not planning to any time soon!

Amazing staff, supportive community and an amazing atmosphere -- all in the perfect location! There are loads of events hosted by and for members, and useful amenities all within a block, such as: a gym, cafe's, shopping, restaurants, parking, parks and affordable living. Not to mention being right on the edge of downtown and the Meewasin river valley. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking for a home for your business, the Two Twenty has co-working, small and medium sized offices, and studios! Our team of 6 couldn't be happier being a part of the crew here!

An office building full of like-minded, friendly Canadians! What more could you ask for??? Everyone is always happy to hold the door open for you, collaborate on fresh ideas, and make the building and neighbourhood a better place. A sense of community doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere that the people of the Two Twenty bring to this space. Your business might only have a handful of employees, but when you work at the Two Twenty you end up meeting so many more people and creating a network that benefits you professionally and increases your social well-being. Grab a treat from one of the many restaurants on the block and come give it a try!

Plus, many of Saskatoon's best restaurants, locally owned retail shops, and major tourist attractions are just a short walk away.

Bright, comfortable and welcoming with lovely people around. Music, wifi, private space for a phone call and a coffee shop right there. What else do you need?
