Coworking Space: Obenaus Community in Ehrenhausen

Hello world, my name is Stefan Tilg and I've been to Obenaus for more than a year. Between September 2021 and December 2022 I was part of this community of a family of 5 members, a single woman and Rainer, the host. Everybody had his or her own private space, but mostly we gathered in the community spaces around the place. The place itself is lovely, wide and lies in the middle of Austria's Toscana. I was especially fond of the many possibilities to use my hands: woodcutting, tending to the sheep, preparing the garden, building houses, ... there are plenty things to do. To pay for your stay, you need to to some work to sustain the place. And you'll need to have some income to provide for the rent. Be aware :) You'll be invitited to prepare dinner for the community - everyone picks a day in the week to offer his cooking skills. BUT: This is the most precious element of the community. Being together, appreciating every person's uniquiness and learn a lot from each other. If you have never been to a community like Obenaus: Come for a visit. You'll be welcomed with open arms, free coffee and tea, or even beer and wine and of course, a very good conversation in the greens of Styria. Have fun, enjoy your stay! Stefan

I, myself, looking for a remote place in nature with lovely people around and lots of opportunities to focus on how I want to live my life. That spot is called Obenaus. I stayed there, as a resident, between September 2021 until December 2022. There were a few more people living there: A family with 5 people and a single woman. And the host of course. We had a fun, honest time with each other. We cared for each other and beautified the place even more. I was specifically fond of the co-dining. Every day someone else prepared dinner for the community. We sat together, shared stories and thanked each other for the work being done. If you are into hands-on labour, you can do woodcutting, gardening, building, re-organizing stuff, fruit-picking and -preparing, ...pick whatever you like and contribute to the community's effort to make the Obenaus a place worth living. It was a true pleasure working and staying at the Obenaus Community during my stay in Austria. Wonderful natural surrounds, that make that you have plenty of positive distractions from generally long hours of desk work :) LAN Internet speed wasn't brilliant (two yrs ago), but easily solved with good mobile internet.
