About Warner Robins

Known as "Georgia's International City" because of its diverse population, Warner Robins is just over an hour from Atlanta in the county of Houston. A mid-sized town, its claim to fame is that it is home to the Robins Air Force Base and the Museum of Aviation. You will find a modern southern city that was built as a model town based on a perfect circle like spokes running out from a central hub that is a huge central park. Established in 1821 for a large farming community, it became just another train stop in 1865 when the railroad came through on the route north to Macon.

Not totally lacking in cultural pursuits, there is the Warner Robins Little Theater to see a local performance and the Warner Robins Art Gallery to gawk at some local artists' work. By far the largest attraction for travelers is the Robins Air Force Base and the Museum of Aviation Flight and Technology Center where you can see 93 aircraft and missiles dating back to the late 19th Century. Beside the museum sits the Heritage Center where you can experience 10,000 years of Native American history. If you are a macho man with a gun there is plenty of wildlife to hunt down such as deer, quail, rabbit and turkeys also large mouth bass for the angler. You can jog, run or simply walk around any of 6 public parks in the town or indulge in a bit of tennis, volleyball or simply spread a picnic blanket for some time out. There is no lack of shopping opportunities and with such a diverse population there is no chance of not finding the cuisine of your choice to scoff down.
