Quoting an African proverb as their motto, “If you want to run fast, run alone; if you want to run far, run together”, Mesh Cowork caters to remote workers, freelancers and self-employed professionals who wish to forge a cohesive and friendly community. Locally run and loved, this coworking venue sits above a local coffee shop in the heart of downtown Bakersfield. Flooded with natural light and an awesome view over the streets, there are plenty of desks and space to get your stuff done.
As a coworking member of MESH you will have a 24/7 direct line to 100+ community members via the online community list and chat rooms. This is where you can ask a question, share ideas or simply socialize and meet amazing likeminded people. You will receive invites to monthly events such as community meals, show and tell sessions or whatever, as well as field trips and group activities.
Coworking members can create virtual offices, take over executive suites or share the common area, as it has been created for independent thinkers. This is a space to come together with a common bond and to escape the horrible loneliness of working alone from home or listening to an espresso machine hissing in your ears in a cafe. You only pay for the time and the space that you use, with no lengthy commitments.
Facilities available include high-speed Internet, printing and copying services and access to conference rooms for those important meetings. You can even avail yourself of a discounted rate on the instructor lead courses, if you wish to increase your knowledge.

I used to visit Bakersfield very frequently over a period of several years. I work remote and always need some place quiet with fast internet and good hours. The Bakersfield coworking scene is pretty dismal, but if there were competition in the market Mesh would crush it. In addition to a safe, comfortable facility in a great location, they have a wonderful community of entrepreneurs who come together to brainstorm and exchange ideas. Although I haven't been to Bakersfield in a few months and have no plans to return, I would return to Mesh in a heartbeat if the situation presented itself.
