About Salt Lake City

The Mormon equivalent of the Vatican City, Salt Lake City is Utah's capital and the headquarters for the Mormons.  Despite this, these days there are more "non-Mormons" than Mormons.  The land of over 118 bars where it isn't just beer served, Salt Lake City is one of the world's most accessible ski destinations.  Whether it is skiing or snowboarding, the powder snow is perfect with a dense base and fluffy flakes on top where you can actually ski into a distillery down the slopes for a quick or slow drinking session.

Salt Lake City has a huge "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender" community and the annual Pride Festival is over run by more than 25,000 people in party mode. Amazingly fresh sushi is flown in daily to be consumed by the hordes at any one of the 13 sushi places in town, there are 12 local breweries to taste test and as it was home to the first ever KFC, you can gorge on some fried chicken whilst sitting beside one of the colonel's original white suits.  If you desire food that is more organic than the fast food variety, there are farmer's markets for brilliant fresh produce all year round.

You can go for a somewhat smelly float in the Great Salt Lake that has an average depth of 13 feet, is 75 miles long and 35 miles wide and super salty.  The locals are super friendly and it is the perfect town to ride a bicycle around with 150 miles of dedicated bike lanes at your disposal.
