About Fountain Valley

A suburban city in Orange County with a population of around the 55,313 mark, Fountain Valley is an upper middle-class urban sprawl. Sitting near the San Diego Freeway, the city is surrounded by Huntington Beach, Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and the Santa Ana River borders its eastern side. A town with all of the amenities one would expect, its economy was historically based in small crops, especially strawberries. Today it's home to the national headquarters of Hyundai Motor America, the memory chip manufacturer Kingston Technology and the corporate headquarters of Surefire plus others. Coworking venues have now opened up in the city so that its locals don't have to sit in the traffic chaos and bottlenecks caused by the rush-hour traffic on the freeway.

Fountain Valley may not be a tech hub per se, but it sits in the state of California where there are a lot of brains walking around the streets. The California Institute of Technology generates more patents than any other university in the United States and the University of California in Los Angeles more startups. In fact the area has a startup density on a part with many Silicon Valley cities. California is said to offer to the next generation of tech innovators the perfect base to launch startups with its strong university system, access to funding, brainpower and talent, a strong ecosystem and a great lifestyle where the weather is warm.

With many graduates wanting to stay on their own home-turf, coworking venues have become the playground and the hangout for these out-of-the-box thinkers where they can get support, mingle with a likeminded community and get their stuff done without having the agro of traffic torment.
