About El Segundo

A city in Los Angeles County of California, El Segundo sits on the Santa Monica Bay with a population of around the 16,654 mark. Bordered by the Los Angeles International Airport and Manhattan Beach plus the Pacific Ocean, the Guinness World Records has listed the city as having the most roads on a hill. The town was one of the major aircraft manufacturing facilities in California during World War II producing dive-bombers and today this facility is still an aircraft plant operated by Northrop Grumman. El Segundo has loads of brainy souls walking its' streets, as it's home to the California Institute of Technology that generates more patents and startups than any other university, so it's little wonder that coworking venues have opened their doors.

Much of El Segundo's economy is based in aviation and petroleum related industries and the town is renowned for its business-friendly environment with many large companies having headquarters based in El Segundo, such as Mattel (think toys), Boeing, The Aerospace Corporation and Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, to name a few. It is also home to film production companies like Rhythm and Hues Studios and Lightstorm Entertainment.

California has a growing new generation of tech innovators, a varied ecosystem and diverse influences that lead to innovation. With many graduates wanting to stay on their own home territory, coworking venues have become the playground and the hangout for many creatives where they can get support, mingle with likeminded souls and get their stuff done.
