About Maidenhead

A large market town in Berkshire on the banks of the River Thames, Maidenhead has a population of about the 73,000 mark. It sits west of the Taplow Ridge that is a wooden cloaked spur rising dramatically above the river where Clivedon House perches in all its glory over the town. London is only 50km away, so it’s easy to get into the big smoke if need be. The history buff will be intrigued by the fact that Maidenhead has a site of "Special Scientific Interest". The largest hand axe of the Paleolithic era in Britain was discovered on the outskirts of the city at Cannoncourt Farm Pit. There is also a local nature reserve, "The Gullet", where you can frolic when you are sick of sitting in your coworking space.

The township was built in 1777 so there are a few historical buildings and monuments such as the Maidenhead Bridge that will get you over the river to Taplow. The "All Saints' Church" completed in 1857 is where you can say a little prayer for your startup to succeed. A typical town with pretty urban areas and lots of parks, you will have everything you need to get you through your daily life. Its Georgian and Victorian buildings have had makeovers and the new town buildings have been constructed in sympathy with the same historical style.

The UK tech scene has been flourishing over the last 5 years with 20% of the new tech startups launching in the technology, scientific and professional activity markets. In terms of numbers of startups registered in the UK it is running 3rd behind Turkey and France. The UK offers great foundations for entrepreneurs and coworking venues are supporting these intrepid souls giving them the space to hang out, get creative and mingle with likeminded souls.
