About Hull

Its full name is "Kingston upon Hull". "Hull" as it is abbreviated to, is a unique city in the UK, as it has had its own municipally-own telephone system since 1902 sporting "cream" not the usual red telephone boxes. The city has played its part in the English Civil Wars and in the 18th Century it took a prominent part in the abolition of the slave trade in Britain. Sitting on the Hull River where it meets the Humber Estuary, it has a population of around the 260,200 mark. Home to one of the UK's leading ports, Hull is now a focal point of the technology community. The number of coworking spaces sprouting up is a reflection of this fact.

The tech profile of this city includes a mix of innovation, established companies and a growing tech scene that has been bubbling away beneath the global radar. It is only now through increased collaboration, government support and private investment that Hull is gaining in profile. It was here that the world's first crypto currency was born that was based on a community loyalty point scheme. Hull is also home to tech companies such as Trident, Ebuyer and Summit. With such a wealth of experience and innovative minds it is little wonder that coworking has become the de rigueur space to run to for creative minds to explore their ideas.

Hull is where you will find "The Centre for Digital Innovation" which is a cornerstone for the Hull tech community plus many other coworking spaces that run tech incubation programs for startups plus corporate projects helping them to innovate. Hull is a happening place where you will not be short of places to drop in and get your work done amidst inspiring minds.
