About Langkawi

Known as the "Jewel of Kedah", Langkawi is an archipelago of 104 islands floating in the Andaman Sea about 30 km off the coast of northwestern Malaysia. It is more of a tourist bubble than a tech hub with its brilliant water for swimming around with the local marine creatures, but a coworking venue sitting on the beach could be the incentive to get some brains buzzing with creativity.

The largest of the islands is Langkawi Island (Pulau Langkawi) and it has a population of about 65,000 people. The only other inhabited island is Tuba, so you can imagine the lure of endless uninhabited islands to sail around finding your own slice of heaven. Langkawi Island with its capital of Kuah is a bustling Malaysian affair and is the administrative district, plus it has the perk of being a "duty free" island. Coworking in such a place is definitely one for those into "above and below" water adventures or for those who like to splash around in the sea during lunchtime break.

Langkawi is where you can forget all about the corporate jungle and concentrate on your project, work or startup, in sublime bliss whilst sipping on a cocktail on the beach. For entrepreneurs looking for an alternative to setting up shop in say Bali, this destination is an exotic substitute. Now with the advent of coworking spaces springing up, it is a no-brainer if you want the ocean tickling your toes whilst you work. Exchange rates and the low cost of living, should be putting Langkawi on everyone's radar.
