About Fujisawa

A small town sitting near Kamakura in Japan, Fujisawa is more of a "fleeting" town for tourist hordes traveling by train. Oh, look there it goes! So if you happen to be on the Odakyu line from Shinjuku and Machid in Tokyo and changing trains to get to Enoshima and Kamakura, you will actually set foot in the town if you get off the train.

For the railway enthusiast there is a small scenic train ride that can be taken from Kamakura to Fujisawa or vice versa, where the railway lines run long small roads near the Shichirigahama Beach, some of the roads are actually used by cars that look like mini trams.
For the really quirky mind there is an annual festival in August where you get to scoop goldfish with a paper scoop. Apparently this is the place to be if you want to see the largest event of "kingyo sukui" (aka goldfish scooping) in the world - or so says the Guinness Book of Records.

Not much to do here obviously, but then again you are in Japan, so I am sure you can rustle up some sake and noodles with some karaoke on the side.
