About Amagasaki

An industrial city in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan, Amagasaki was founded in 1916. It is a somewhat small town with a population of 460,000 souls milling around. It has the dubious reputation of being associated with the Amagasaki rail crash in 2005 that left over 100 dead and more than 550 injured.

On the bright side from a political point of view, they are visionaries being the first city in Japan to elect a female mayor in 2010, Kazumi Inamura.

A huge part of the Hanshin Industrial Region, Amagasaki has quite a few large businesses based in its city, including the likes of Osaka Titanium Technologies.

Maybe a town that you will not linger in, as there appears to be very little of interest, or it may be the perfect place to put your head down and tap away on your laptop with absolutely zero distractions.
