"An oasis for startups"

    October 2018

Apart from the competitive pricing, Uptown creates a good balance of providing an office like environment and creating a homely ambience where users aren’t restricted at just working at a desk. With break out areas, a comfortable sofa and lounge chairs and capsules to take conference calls, it’s a great place to work from. Located in an industrial building it has the grunge feel of a startup, Uptown is an oasis for startups in any industry. Come on a Thursday and meet some of the members during their Happy Hour. Uptown will also rent out their open area to non members.

"Awesome, chilled, personable but professional office. "

      October 2018

Uptown is a personable and professional office. The layout whilst compact offers flexibility for holding seminars and presentations. And the lounge like feel gives it a personable touch. Uptown size is actually its attractiveness. Uptown being a start up itself offers great empathy with start up businesses and Have the management to be more that helpful and considerate. Good cross fertilisation of tech companies and other start up related businesses make it useful for networking with like minded people. Thursday Happy Hour is always a winner! From a business perspective, it would be useful if there was network of such size offices around Hong Kong so you could pop into if you have meetings in other parts of the Island, Kowloon or New Territories.

      "Good"

        October 2018

Uptown is terrific, the co-working space gives us the social environment to interact with fellow founders to share ideas and expand our business. It creates opportunities for people to connect for collaborations and partnerships. Uptown puts great emphasis on user experience and a sense of community. Uptown really provides its members with value and resources. The team here is always friendly, helpful and attentive with very few distractions, so you get the support you need while being able to focus on your growing business. This is really the most important thing for any early stage entrepreneur. And they have free food every Thursday!

          "Terrible Internet"

            March 2018

Internet is a huge problem at this co-working space. We complained for months that the internet cuts out (Wifi would cut out for 1-2min randomly multiple times each day) or become very slow. Eventually after persistently complaining everyday for 4 months, a technician was brought in who proceeded to tell us "this is normal", "it's your equipment problem" and "we should just get our own internet". After the incident, more customers complained at which point there were hardware upgrades made only to cause another issue where they limit your bandwidth to 7mbps (This is a third of the speed of 4G which is ~21mbps). There are times when the network becomes slow and we have average speeds of 2.5mbps - even loading google takes around 10 seconds. Think again before committing to this co-working space. Bathrooms are also terrible, especially in summer - there is no aircon or fan (only extractor fan) and it feels like you are in a sauna when you step into the bathroom.

            5 Thank Anon

            "Shity Wifi in the world."

              March 2018

As long as you don't use wifi in the place, every thing is fine. We keep complain the Wifi, but they didn't care about you. They tell us to use your own internet. But they restrict the bandwidth to 3Mbps. For you reference, 4G is around 21Mbps. Even for you home internet is faster that here. When we have no Internet, they tell us to restart you computer to get better wifi. If you enjoy no wifi co-working place. This is your good choice. We have complaining for months already. But they would rather keep some money and have unhappy customers.
