Coworking Space: Eighteen04 in Newcastle

A coworking venue that is a curated collaborative space, work venue and inspirational incubator for tech startups, Eighteen04 wishes to build on regional strengths to launch scalable technology startups into a global market. Based in Newcastle in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, their mission is to transform the energy economy into the creation of smarter and more sustainable cities.

Both software and hardware startups are welcome to Eighteen04, as it provides affordable work space, opportunities to collaborate, workshop facilities and plenty of events where you can network. There is a dedicated team and a resident cohort facilitating strong linkages to the startup scene in Sydney and on an international platform. Sitting in a renovated heritage building, it offers memberships to residents who complete a formal Membership Agreement and who are accepted by their Board. Focused on clean energy, Eighteen04 is a bit selective as to who gets to walk through its hallowed doors. They wish to ensure that their community is diverse, willing to inspire, energise, support and scale the efforts of each other to make an impact on the environment.

Eighteen04 has a dedicated section to support electrical engineering, 3D printing and test benches with access to some of the regions leading facilities and educators in their makerspace facility. They have strong ties with both the University of Newcastle and the Hunter TAFE to ensure that the needs of engineering startups have everything they need to forge ahead.
