About Darling Point

Darling Point is for those that have big wallets.  Here you will find some of the most exclusive and expensive real estate in the whole of Australia.  An eastern suburb of Sydney, it prettily sits on the harbor and is a mere 4 km from Sydney's heart.  A veritable "A List" of Australian "Very Important People" such as Nicole Kidman, Rachel Griffiths and even Tom Cruise for a moment, call this area home.

Even grunge weekend wear bears a designer label and there are plenty of large wrought iron gates hiding luxurious mansions that overlook the water of the harbor.  Despite its elitist vibe, Darling Point is one of the most historic and oldest parts of Sydney. Obviously the locals are a generous bunch, as according to the Australian Taxation Office the residents donate more money to charity than any other area in Australia.

There are stunning view points over the harbor, heritage listed homes built of sandstone and the smallest beach to be found in Sydney, the McKell Beach that you can only get to by boat at low tide.  Sydney Harbor has 504,000 mega liters of water and is the deepest natural harbor in the world. It is no wonder that it was used as the set for the film "Finding Nemo".  In fact over 229 films have been set or featured in Sydney with the St Mark's Anglican Church in Darling Point Road being the scene used in the film Muriel's Wedding.  Incidentally it was also where Elton John's first marriage took place.
