About Geneva

The global hub for big banking and diplomacy, Geneva sits on the southern tip of Lac Léman (aka Lake Geneva) the largest lake in Europe with expansive views of the dramatic Mount Blanc. From its bohemian haven of Carouge with its bistros and cafes to its gastronomy and language, there are more than a few French influences to be found, such as doggy poo being top of the list of complaints, Geneva is one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Think: the Geneva Convention, the Flower Clock in the English Gardens that is an ode to the watch industry, natural beauty in the French Alps and the Jura Mountains, simply masses of beautiful parks in the heart of the city, legalized prostitution for those that maybe interested and quirky statues of Charlie Chaplin and Freddie Mercury. It is the gateway to skiing and hiking in the Alps where the scenery will literally blow you away. Over 4,000 years old, this incredible city is dressed in monuments, museums and dynamic architecture. The Old Town is Switzerland's largest historical center where cobbled streets are dotted with cute cafes, boutique shops to fossick in and an ancient Roman forum is the town square.

The World Wide Web was developed in Geneva at the CERN laboratories for which the digital nomads are forever grateful.
