About Hanover

A friendly town that you will love to stroll around, Hanover is slowly becoming the city to open your laptop, sip a latte and get to work in a coworking space with likeminded individuals to huddle and collude with.

The capital city of the Lower Saxony state of Germany, Hanover is well known for its trade fairs such as the annual CeBIT tech expo and the Hanover Messe industrial technology trade fair, with each attracting over 200,000 visitors annually. Some big industrial companies such as Volkswagen, Continental and Varta call the city home and the locals get around town using the Hauptbahnhof (trains) that have been operating since 1843.

Sitting on the Leine River, the city has a wealth of museums to meander around and plenty of green spaces such as the Eilenriede forest (Europe's largest urban forest) near the inner city, for when you need time out from your cubbyhole coworking space. If you want to take a dip there is the Maschsee Lake to splash in some water, or for the architectural buff, the ornate New Town Hall has 4 different scale models of the city through the ages.

The city has its own international airport and a modern zoo, if you feel the need to chat to some animals. The local lingo is said to be the closest tongue to High German, so make sure you have a few words up your sleeve if you are not a resident of the city.
