Coworking in Stockholm About Stockholm
Make no mistake, Stockholm is not just a place for Steig Larsson fans - this is the cultural, media, political, and economic center of Sweden, with over 4 million people spread across the 14-island archipelago. Even better, the city is compact and walkable - with 57 connecting bridges, it's easy to explore each distinct neighborhood.
Stockholm is also one of the greenest capital cities in the world, with high air quality, very little pollution, and extremely clean drinking water. It's even home to the world's first legally protected "national urban park." Just know that its beauty comes with a price - this is an expensive city, so despite the plethora of places to stay, eat, and shop, expect to have your budget stretched a bit while you're here.
During the winter, there is only about six hours of daylight each day in Stockholm - so unless you packed your headlamp, the best time to visit is in the summer (when there is an average of 18 hours of daylight each day). Take in some culture while you're getting around, too: with its decorated stations, the world-renowned Stockholm metro has often been called the longest art gallery in the world. Â
Pro tip: Despite the Stockholm Card (used for public transport, free museum admissions, and other discounts) being widely advertised on tourism sites, be aware that the program was discontinued on December 31, 2015.
