About Zakopane

A resort town in southern Poland, Zakopane sits at the feet of the Tatras Mountains where you can play in the snowy winter months or indulge in a bit of trekking and mountain climbing during the summer time. You won't have to create havoc with your legs, as there is a cable car and funicular to get you up to the ski destinations of Kasprowy Wierch and Gubalowka. Known for its beautiful wooden chalets of Zakopane-style architecture, the city has a population of around the 27,424 mark.
Dating back to the 17th Century when it was a village of 43 inhabitants, it was a center for mining and metallurgy industries. In 1889 it became a climatic health resort and with the coming of the railway its population increased dramatically. Today, Zakopane is a tourist hub with over 2,500,000 tourists swelling the town's numbers on an annual basis. In light of this, its little wonder that coworking venues have opened up for the innovative souls who like to play outdoors all year round during coffee, lunch or after work breaks.

This is the town to pack your snowshoes, skis, snowboard or whatever else on your back when you head off to work in the mornings for those impromptu business meetings in the wild. You can ride a horse, trek one of the many trails or hire a dirt bike for a jolting experience through the mountains. You can indulge in the traditional dish of roast lamb by a fireside or take a horse-pulled sleigh ride if you partake of too much alcohol. There is a plethora of restaurants to satisfy hunger pangs and shops to satisfy the most avid shopaholic. Market stalls hold their own traditional fascination where you can buy everything from leather jackets to fur coats, or for the foodie there is the local famous smoked sheep cheese up for grabs. At night the city comes alive with an assortment of funky bars and dance clubs where you can play up as much as you like.

Poland has been ranked the 3rd best startup hub by the World Bank for its friendly ecosystems plus its government is giving incentives to do with taxation and administrative conditions. The nation attracts a wealth of ambitious entrepreneurs creating a vibrant community of tech savvy souls who love to hang out in coworking spaces in collaborative harmony.
