As the UK continues to expand its options for coworking in cities across the British Isles, nearly every region has entered the shared workspace market, offering independent professionals a dynamic range of coworking options.

In response to the demand for collaborative communities, the brand-new coworking hub, Works Social, has officially opened its yellow door in Commerce Square in Nottingham’s Lace Market.

As the city’s latest contemporary coworking space and event concept, Works Social is aimed at independent freelancers looking to move out of their home office, remote workers seeking a dedicated desk, and small business teams searching for a stepping stone before taking on premises of their own.

Over the past 12 months, the four-story, Grade II building has been undergoing extensive renovations, transforming the former Lace Works into a bright and airy coworking community. With dedicated desks, shared meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, hot desking options, pods for private calls, and relaxed event space for networking or training, Works Social offers a range of membership options to suit all stages of self-employment or scaling from a micro-business to a bigger team.

“It’s been hard graft to get the space ready to open its doors, but we really think that the finish and feel of the place is just what Nottingham’s coworking community needs,” said Lise Garner Morgan, Works Social’s co-founder. “We’ve had some fantastic feedback during our walkarounds and have been overwhelmed so far with how many people have expressed an interest in signing up. Whether it is virtual address, a dedicated desk, or space for a small team, we are looking forward to welcoming many new members.”

Beyond having three floors dedicated to communal desk space, hot-desking areas, shared facilities, and personal lockers, the ground floor offers a bookable meeting room space, breakout areas, a relaxation area, an outdoor terrace, and a bar.

A range of membership options are available―from annual virtual office arrangements to monthly membership packages for independent workers, teams, and freelancers.

Open evenings will be taking place on alternate Wednesdays in May and June from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interested coworkers can book via Eventbrite or contact [email protected].
