About Patna

An ancient city sprawled on the south bank of the Ganges River; Patna is the largest city in the state of Bihar, northeast India. With over 2 million people living in the city, you may have moments of wishing to escape from the maddening crowd. One of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world; it was founded in 490BC under the name of "Pataliputra". Historically a hub of learning and fine arts, it was home to many astrologers and scholars plus the seat of power, politics and culture. Stated by the World Bank as the 2nd best city (after Delhi) in India to start up a business, it's the 21st fastest growing city in the world.

Local IT gurus are expounding that it is a good time to be an entrepreneur in India, as the market has matured from being just a bubble. Startups are hitting new highs and global investors are putting funds into the sector, whilst innovative Indians are attempting to create the next billion-dollar company. The IT sector ranges from e-commerce to fitness and art, as it is being driven by India's expanding economy, rising disposable income and the tech boom.

Patna, as with the rest of India has its quota of new entrepreneurs giving up their day jobs to jump on the startup bandwagon. Coworking venues are supporting these intrepid souls whether they are students or seasoned professionals by giving them the space to mingle, collaborate and the space to get their stuff done before they rush home to gorge on some mutton kebabs.
