Brook Woolf always knew she wanted to make a positive impact on the world since she was a young girl. She willfully started her career in the field of nonprofit management and founded a three-story non-profit community center at 22 years old. After seven years of art school and studying all around the world, she began her new nomadic focus in her own backyard of the west side of Chicago. Brook can happily say that her dreams came true once she began strategic empowerment coaching. What are you working on right now?

I just partnered with an amazing woman, Fran Cresswell, that I easily can say is the Yang to my Yin. She helps people fully brand their business. We just launched a new one-on-one program for holistic businesses to get a fully hands-on approach to building their business from the ground up online called the Ultimate Unicorn Program. We do marketing, branding, web development and mindset all while we help our soulmate clients find their own magical clients. I am honored to literally LOVE everyone that I work with on a daily basis and be living the life that I always dreamed of. It is wonderful to be helping people own their worth and be a witness to their powerful transformations of stepping into their authentic lifestyle and business.

What is your current desktop wallpaper? and why?

I have a cutesy pink and floral line that reads “healing is not linear” that is in the shape of an EKG test.

Which book has shaped your life or changed the way you think the most?

Not sure it can all go into one book, as I am an avid reader and it really is the collection of books that have shaped and formed many of my thoughts. One of the ones that come to my mind often is a book called The Flying Drum. It is a book written by a psychologist that treats the “difficult” cases, and the book is about building your mojo. It really has helped me unlock my blockages in many different ways when I find I am in a rut. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels like they need a little bump in a creative direction in their life.

How do you start off your day — aka what’s your morning routine?

I wake from an amazing sleep app called Sleep Cycle, which reads my levels of deep sleep and wakes me at the perfect REM time. Then I get up and stretch, say my morning affirmations and lay in bed happily for some moments. Once I feel ready to get up I get some coffee together, make a smoothie and then either go to exercise, walk the dog or call clients. This second part changes depending on the day. If I do not have a client call, I generally won’t touch a computer or get to work until noon. I consider all that time inner time for me to check in and do the things that create a healthy lifestyle, so I can give 100% to my friends, family and clients.

What is one thing you do to get motivated?

LOTS of out-loud pep talks and power-poses. I also always have an accountability buddy/hire a coach for the things that are more difficult for me to self-motivate. Sometimes, I even start groups and meetings to motivate myself because I know I will always go if a bunch of other people are showing up and I am supposed to be the organizer.

What made you smile today?

I got to see my apprentice (yes, I have an apprentice for teaching emotional body mapping and my healing practices) and she seems genuinely happy with her progress over the last six months. She just makes me smile.

What is something you think everyone should try at least once in their life? Or, name one skill you think everyone should have or learn.

People serve to learn how to heal themselves physically a bit more. Massage, self-care practices, correct breathing and walking are just a few ways that could serve people. Even learning how to play in a way that isn’t meant for distraction, but with the intention of releasing some stress could really benefit the adult world as we know it.

What is one skill or hobby you’ve been meaning to learn but haven’t had time for?

SO much!! I love learning! It is something I am always doing. This year is actually the first year since I was five that I am not learning something with intense focus. I do want to learn more about building stuff, as I am currently building all the furniture in my house as a hobby. I also would love to learn more about acupuncture. I have been receiving it as my modality of choice as of late and am falling in love with the practice.

  3. Watching my clients get their first clients.

What is the best thing that you have done, just because you were told you can’t?

Ran a three-story nonprofit that housed 2k people weekly in the west side of Chicago.

What is your favorite coworking space and why?

I am about to help facilitate an all-women’s mastermind and coworking retreat in Bali next month by and I have a feeling that is going to be my favorite! I was told of the coworking space as well that we are running most of our workshops from and it sounds amazing! It is called Dojo Coworking space in Canguu.

If you had the opportunity to spend a week or month in another country to be your office of the week/month, where would you go?

Right now, if money were no issue, I would want to have some more time in South America. I do feel like I miss my Latin flavors and really want to practice my Spanish again as well. Also, Peru has been calling me since I was a child.

Biggest item on your bucket list at the moment?

Climb the Himalayas in Nepal.

What was your first job? Has it shaped where you are today?

I worked for my father pricing jewelry at his pawnshop. I was 12 and it was a pivotal moment in my life to remind me that I wanted to create positive change in people’s lives. There was so much distance from my life to the lives of the customers; I knew then that I wanted to create a positive change in the lives of the people around me. My drive for expanding my emotional knowledge and wellness career, my philanthropic side and my open heart was cracked open during these years.

Any advice for your previous boss?

I have been my own boss since I was 22. I only had a few bosses in my life and in truth, I like all of them and they like me.

What’s your favorite part about coworking?

The community development, the accountability, the flexibility and the understanding of the nomadic lifestyle.

I am truly honored to live a life where my morals and values completely align with everything I do AND I am able to be successful doing it. I am so grateful to everyone who has given me the tools and the platform to inspire change and keep my positivity shining.
